CGT exemption

Can anyone tell me if I make use of the €1,270 exemption and have no other liability, do I still need to file a form 11?

If you mean you have capital gains less than 1,270 then no, you don't NEED to file but make sure you keep a record in case they come looking

Presumably, the proceeds of your disposal will have been lodged to an account somewhere and the Revenue may be notified

You will get a slap on the wrist for not filing, but no more

On the basis of transparency I would file a return showing you don't have a liability. As @jpd said the revenue may be directed to you due to a lodgement or some such elsewhere and the filing of the return would show you were proactive in dealing with the issue.
