Hi folks, wonder if someone out there can help me. Currently selling my house, a one-off build 3 years old. I need to get a certificate of compliance for the solicitor but not sure who would have this, the county council / architect / builder?

Any help appreciated.

Did you not get a Cert. of Compliance at the time of the build from the Architect? That is so much part of the finalising of the build process.

You do know what it is, don't you?

A Certificate of Compliance is a certificatate from the Engineer/Architect to certify that the planning regulations in the planning permission were abidded by and also that the building act 1990 was also adhered to. you should contact the Architech/Engineer who you dealt with when you were building the property and they can certify that everything is in order (if it is in order)

The original mortgage lender & your solicitor should have a copy of this on your file.
