Celtic Water Systems: quoted €1,300 for Clack 35 x 10 inch system with RO. Any Good?

anyone know if celtic water solutions are good or bad? quoted 1300 for clack 35 x 10 inch system with Reverse osmosis for 4 bed end terrace only 2 people in the house.

Is the Clack 35 x 10 inch system to soften the water?

If you live on a terreace it is likely that you are on town water? If so what do you need the RO system for?

Did you get your water tested at a reputable accredited laboratory before getting quotes?

Get quotes from other reputable water treatment contractors before making your mind up.

apologies for the "hijack" it was unintentional as the thread was about water softeners. anyway i am on a town system but water is some of hte hardest in the country. shower is going after 6 months.. other quotes were from springsoft at 1100 for softner and a tap filter not ro.. other quote was for 595 for 10 x 26 system or 895 with ro.... reason i was looking at the ro system was the salt and having high bllood pressure...

Why don't you drink the hard water from a by pass tap?

Celtic Water Systems €1,300 (Water Softener and RO)
Spring Soft €1,100 (Water Softener and tap filter)
Other €894 (WS and RO)

How hard is the water? Have you had it tested?

water is extremly hard over 500ppm(offaly area). i was told by the companies that the water from the tap would be better filtered. didnt realise you could insist on them not softening the tap water? other company by the way was ew technologies and were only giving a 3 year guarantee compared to 10 to 15 for the other 2.
