We're planning an extension & had intended to have ceiling to floor glass overlooking the garden.
We've had a couple of people in whoever who recommended using a dwarf wall (2 cavity blocks high) at the bottom.
Basically they said the end of ceiling to floor glass always gets dirty from rain boucing off the ground outside.
If anyone has either of these options could they give their opinions please?
The detail at the path out side is vital. The finished floor level should be 150mm above path level. personally i would stay away from concrete paths and incorporate a washed pea gravel path iwth french drain under.
We've just installed floor to ceiling glass on two sides of our living room. We replaced a dwarf wall on one side.
We haven't moved in yet, but personally, it is absolutely fabulous. You walk into the room and it looks like there are no walls between you and the garden. I think a dwarf wall would have taken away from the effect.
As Sydthebeat suggested, we are putting in gravel paths outside. We have a dog, so the end of the glass will get dirty, but it is a small price to pay for what, to me, looks absolutely amazing.
