Hi My wife suprised me with a trip to england for my birthday to a football match.
Arranged it all herself god-love-her aint she great :) I should take the hit but it gauls me that some ejit is making 100 sterling on me. rather spend it on a nice resteraunt when over there.

She told me she bought the tickets off a uk website. They came in at 165 sterling for 2 tickets. the dearest tickets on the club website are 32 sterling each. So someone is making a packet.

I got her to ring the crowd she bought off and he humed and hawed a bit and said he'd ring her back.
The match isn't till mar 02, so the tickets aren't sent yet.

My question is - are we entitled to cancel and get a refund ?
nothing on the confirmation email mentions cancellations policies .

i think there's a 7 day cooling off period provided for in EU legislation no idea where that is though so if she bought them over 7 days ago you could be in trouble.
actually just checked here

and it states the regulations do not apply to concert tickets so i would imagine football tickets would be the same.

Thanks guys - only bought yesterday.
Was afraid of that - Just have to live and learn.

Thanks.

If your wife was kind enough do surprise you with something she thought you'd like I would be inclined to just accept that it cost more than it should have - and not to have made a point of it with her.

She must feel really embarassed now that she tried to do something really nice for you and it's been turned into a 'value for money' issue - presents aren't really about that!

It was a present out of love - maybe more costly than it should have been, but if you don't want any more surprises any more then you may have taken the first step!!!

.

Come on! Don't harp on about the cost of the ticket. This is a once-off surprise. Forget about the clubs website...you would need to be a member anyway to ever avail of those prices! Thank your wife...you are lucky to have her!
