cats on furniture

ha all any one know how to keep a cat off furniture
my sofa and chairs are destroyed and full of cat hair im hoovering them every day its driving me insane ,i cant get rid of the cat its the wifes ,has any one any tips before im sent over the edge
 
eh. keep the cats out of the room that the hairs annoy you in?

Or get rid of the wife...then you can do what you want with the cat:D

Cant live with em...cant shoot em!

Cats don't like the smell of orange, so put some orange oil around the base of the chair/sofa (check it doesn't damage the fabric first though!) and the cat should get the message that it's not a pleasant place to be.....
Or just cover the chair/sofa with throws which can be replaced.....
Or just learn to live with cat hair!
 
Cats are pets and just love to sit where you sit ( honestly ) so dont leave your scent on the chairs - just sit on the floor instead.
 
We have four cats and we just don't allow them into our sitting room. They have access to the rest of the house but not the good chairs, etc. They know full well not to come in so they remain happy in the kitchen or bedrooms. Cats are very clever - give them a cosy bed elsewhere, nice and warm and quiet in the rooms you want them in and they won't both your good furniture.
