catching rain water from down pipe

hey all,

just wondering does anyone know of something, that could be used to fit to an existing standard downpipe. i want to use it to collect rain water for watering the garden, wash the car etc instead of using tap water.
or will i just have to go away and make a diy unit myself to attach to the existing down pipe !

Some local authorities are selling subsidised water butts in case that helps. In Dublin Fingal Co Co is one as far as I know.

B&Q have a large selection of water butts and diverter kits. Very easy to install. We've two and both have been full to the brim for the last few weeks!
