CAT / CGT on same inherited property

I inherited a property late last year. I sold it 2 months later.
Does Revenue allow an offset for the CAT already paid?
There is CGT due on the difference between value I inherited at.
I was reading that it has to be the same transaction.

No.

That provision relates to an entirely different scenario where a donor’s CGT on a gift can be offset against the associated CAT of the beneficiary.
