I am on jobseeker benefit since recently but had already booked a 2-week break in the coming weeks. That was before I lost one of my jobs...
My question is: what way does Social Welfare calculate my holiday entitlement as a casual worker? I know from the SW website that:
"A person may receive Jobseeker's Benefit or Jobseeker's Allowance for 2 weeks holidays (i.e. 12 days excluding Sundays) in any calendar year. These holidays may be taken abroad."
but I am slightly confused about how it works for casual workers.
I currently work 3 days/week so I am getting JB for the other 3 days. If I go away for 2 weeks holiday, does this mean that I need to take 3 days x 2 weeks = 6 days holiday from Social Welfare, or do they consider that I am taking all my JB holiday?
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help on this.
