Both areas are good.
Laurel Lodge is serviced by Castleknock train station.
Auburn Ave/Pecks Lane is serviced by Phoenix Park train station but it is probably a farther walk from most houses - also is along a very busy road!! This is probably a downside to these houses.
In terms of schools, from Auburn children mostly go to St Brigids.
Feeder area from this area is Castleknock on the inner side of the M50 - the real village of Castleknock.
From Laurel Lodge children mostly go to Scoil Thomais.
Feeder area is Laurel Lodge, Maple, Sycamore, Oaktree estates.
Both schools have good names.
If you are looking at the "Castleknock address" - used losely - would personally avoid going into Riverwood/Luttrelstown if you are in any way concerned about schools. There continues to be a significant problem with primary school places with St Patricks (a new primary school) very over subscribed and children travelling out of the area to go to schools in Blanchardstown/ Porterstown.
