Cashing in / selling personal pensions

Hi

My hubbie and I are emigrating to Australia this year and wanted to cash in / sell our pensions to raise additional funds for the move. Having contacted the companies direct we have been told that we can not do this.

We know that we will get less than they are worth, but they aren't worth that much anyhow, probably a couple of thousand each, but we are not bothered as the cash is more important at the moment. So can you suggest anyway that we can cash them in, or recommend a company who can buy them, if there is such a thing ?

Many Thanks

Thats kind of interesting . I'm sure theres a lot of cons out there but I remember seeing adverts in the newspapers in Malaga a few years ago advertising ways to move your pension offshore then unlock it there (possibly without losing the tax relief so illegal but not when done offshore?).
I've wondered for a long time is this possible ?

You cannot cash in pensions except in very restricted circumstances (e.g. less than two years membership of an occupational scheme). You cannot sell them on either like certain other policies.
