I have a personal cheque for £250 and I was wondering how I can cash it without getting plundered. Is it possible to cash it in sterling in an irish bank? I would be happy to get the sterling as I will be going to the UK soon.
you cannot cash a sterling cheque; it will have to be lodged into your account; it will have to clear through your bank; which will take on average 5 working days; and then you can spend it.
