Hi,

I received two refund cheques from my local council and from a utility company. The problem is that I moved to a new area where my bank's nearest branch is not within easy reach. Is there any other way that I can cash the cheque or pay it directly into my account without going to my bank (by the way there is a building society branch near my new address and a post office branch if this helps).

Thanks

Put them both in an envelope addressed it to your bank.
Include a completed lodgement slip if you have one (usually one or two in your cheque book).
If no lodgement slip available include a note requesting they be lodged to your account including details.
Post to your bank (registered if you feel necessary).

If you have moved to an area far from a branch of your normal bank then perhaps you should open an account with a nearby bank (if, of course, there is one) starting by lodging those cheques.Having two bank accounts is increasingly common in these uncertan times.
