Cash in hand and dole

Hi everyone,

I'm a student who has a 2 day a week cash in hand job,

I will be registering for jobseeker's in two weeks time,

My question is: when I sign on and tell them about my two shifts will there be a problem with the fact it's CIH?

I'm not going to sign on and not tell them about the two days but I'm wondering will it (a) be a problem for the guys I'm working for or (b) have an effect on my claim, I want to be totally up front and only claim for the days when I'm genuinely jobseeking

Thanks for any/all help

Most people would keep there mouth shut and claim for the 5 days or 6 whatever it is.But since its not often to find an honest person then you will probably be questioned about hours worked tax, prsi and so on.Plus you will probably get your imployer into trouble because your not on the books.

If you in the middle of a course, you won't be allowed sign on for the summer months

you can work up to three days a week and still claim. But afaik working cash in hand means both the employer and employee are breaking laws.
