Carl Spain wants to rock/Scrap Metal Tour

Anyone else see this last night? I thoroughly enjoyed it, but then its my kinda music, in fact I'm gutted I missed the tour.

The Tour was basically 4 'Battle of the Bands' competitions in different towns in Ireland featuring cover bands for:

Metallica - Metallitia
AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Guns 'N' Roses - User Illusion
Iron Maiden - Ireland Maiden
Led Zepplin - Plant & ......... (I forget)

So far Thunderstruck are gone. Maybe the show will be a huge hit & they'll re-tour with it with all the bands ....... but I doubt it.

It was great TV! The singer for Maiden was superb. Though Zep lost it a bit with the hand instrument noise maker thing.

Didn't see it - I've heard Metallitia are good generally though.

Yeah they were good - did Creeping Dead and yer man could sing but Maiden had an Eddy on stage!!!

I thought this was pretty good aswell. Nice to see that harder side of music getting a shot. I think Metallitia were the best for me and thought the rubber plants pretty good in saying that i prefer these original bands over the others.
Hoping for a little more music next time and less chat.

Metallitia seem destined to win.

I wonder are they bands supposed to/expected to pay royalties for copying the original? Its not airplay or producing recorded material, but its public performance for a fee.

Would be harsh on them to have to pay, God knows the originals dont need the money.
