Carers Credit

I got my Tax credit Cert yesterday but it didn't includr a carers allowance for my stay at home wife. Would this be due to the fact that we divide the profits from rental income between us on our end of year declaration, even though on the balancing statement sent to us from revenue they allowed us the carers allowance every other year.

Could it be that she is collecting in excess of €7K rental income p.a. in which case she would probably not qualify for the credit?

Home Carers tax credit is not always automatically brought forward from previous year as the circumstances may have changed ie wife may no longer be carer or children may have outgrown the age limit. You should check with revenue to have it restored if you are still eligible.
