Carers Benefit

I am working fulltime at present and my husband is recovering from a serious illness. He will need care for approximately 9 months. My employers will allow me to reduce my working week to 2 days and I intend to apply for carers benefit for the remaining days. My salary is approx 58000 per annum, but will be reduced now with the reduction in hours,can anyone tell me what I would be entitled to. Thanks My husband is a public servent and is on half pay for the next 4 months then nothing.

The rules for Carer's Benefit are outlined in the link below.

One of the rules is that you cannot work for more than 15 hrs per week, you must get the approval of the Dept beforehand, and there's an income limit - the weekly income from employment must not exceed €332.50.

The current rate of Carer's Benefit is €205 pw.
