I am full time carer for my Dad and in receipt of carers allowance - since February, i have been working about 5-10 hours a week as self employed consultant. I am not sure whether i will reach the limit of means this year but I am probably near it now. Can i reduce my self employed income by a pension contribution? if anyone could direct me to information on the calculation of self employed profit here that would be welcome - is it the same calculation as for Revenue? Any experience here would be useful. Thanks
