Career Change to hospitality

I am considering a career change to hospitality.

I can't seem to find any courses to get into the industry.

You could try the Shannon College of Hotel Management. There are lots of Hotel and Catering Courses in the IT Colleges around the country.

What industry are you changing from and how much do you know about the Hospitality Industry?

This sector is not performing very well at the moment and it's not for everyone, particularly if you have a family, as the hours can be very long and very anti-social.

I have a background in business & accountancy but I have been working in pretty awful clerical type jobs for a while.

I am thinking of a change to hospitality.

The only thing that worries me is long hours and poor pay.

But I have an interest in the area.

Would there be the makings of a career with restaurant work?

Would not mind working as a surpervisor.

Have you considered getting a part time job in the industry first. It will give you a taste of what to expect.

I think that getting a part time job first might be the most sensible option.

Many thanks for the advice.
