Hi All

Have just bought a second hand Cheminea that needs a little bit of TLC. Some rust on it which I'm going to tackle with a wire brush and then want to paint it black. Could anyone advise the best paint bearing in mind that it will have to withstand paint. Thanks.

"Paint that will withstand paint" I assume it is paint that will withstand heat

I'd suggest heat resistant spray paint that you should be able to get in auto/motorfactors. This is normally used for engines/exhausts. The can will give application instructions.

If its cast iron, you could also use Firegrate polish which is what I use here on our cast iron fireplace.

Can be got in any hardware store.
