Car test driver flashing light

I know if you are doing the test you get a fault if you beckon at an oncoming driver. I assume same would apply if you flashed your light, when safety allowed, if an oncoming driver was turning right and a whole lot of trafffic held up behind him. Just being courteous.
 
Yes, that would be an automatic fail. Flashing lights is only allowed as a means of warning other drivers.

Yes, agree with Leo on that... i was warned by instructor before doing driving test not to flash the lights...

BUT I was on the "Hibernian ignition course" many (many) years ago, a car was reversing out of the drive way, I couldn't go around him, didn't want to flash the lights... so just waited until he moved out... Afterwards the instructor then questioned why I didn't flash the lights, explained to him what I was told, & he seemed puzzled by my response... but best to err on the side of caution - do not flash the headlights...
