Hi
I would be grateful if someone could help me here. I have a Nissan Micra 95 1 ltr. Everytime I have to stop in traffic my engine justs stalls. There is a bit of a rev before it stall, then it shakes a bit and stalls completely. I always have to restart my engine. I've been to a few garages already but no luck. I was told by one that it might be the fuel pump, and another mechanic then said it was just the choker and the clutch, but none of them have fixed it as it is still happening

Did anyone have anything like this happen to them. Need to fix it, it driving me mad.

PS Does anyone know of a good mechanic in Galway, can't seem to find a good one....

thanks

Check Honest John theres some interesting info on the Micra there with solutions to reported problems... it may be hitting the nail on the head with this problem.

Good Luck ;)

Don't have a micra but this did happen me with my old car (A Class). Also brought it to the garage several times and they just about told me I was imagining it. It seemed to be an intermittent problem which just made matters worse and it just never happened when anyone else was driving the car.

Eventually got the fuel regulator replaced as recommended by one garage. Problem persisted. Then got the fuel pump replaced and didn't have any problem after that.

Hey

Thanks for all the information. The Honest John website is great, gives good infornation on Micras. Thanks for that DOBBER22.

cardigan thats a good point about the fuel pump, was thinking about that myself, but I'm scared it will cost an arm and a leg to replace it. How much did cost you?

thanks :)

Just checked how much it cost - €491! Better make sure it is the fuel pump before you replace it.
