Just wondering I have a car that will cost more to fix than to buy similar car, so have decided to get rid of it as Head gasket is gone, new/second engine needed .
If I drop it to a scrap yard do I have to give log book and do I have to tell anyone,Insurance is up in 2 weeks but as car still goes, but only last's 15 min before it stops,this is enough time to get to the scrap yard,
 
AFAIK I think you get an end of life cert from the scrap yard and you send that with the log book to the Vehicle Registration place in Shannon
 
I brought my 97 ford fiesta to West Link Recovery Service on the naas road near red cow today. Didnt have any documentation. Filled out a form there and they issued me with a cert of Distruction. Very straightforward and when I called they offered to collect the car if i couldnt drop it in- no charge at all.
 
Anybody Know of a dismantlers in West Cork that will take a car off my daughter? do they charge?
