Car purchased second hand - when does warranty kick in ?

Bought a car second hand from a main dealer with 1 year warranty.

From what date should the warranty apply ?

Is it date I paid the deposit ?

Is it date I paid the balance to the garage and drove the car away from the forecourt ?

The garage delayed in getting the paperwork to Shannon so I did not receive my official paperwork until about 6 weeks after driving it off the forecourt.
Is this the official date from the time the warranty should apply.

Date of purchase. In your case the date you drove it away I'd imagine.
