Hi all,
my girlfriend recently bought a 4 yr old car from a dealership, she got a one year warranty and a whole load of headaches. Basically after one week the some of the electrics failed, the car was returned to be fixed within week and collected next day. Electrics to all displays failed on following day. Gf rang garage to report fault, she was told to bring it in after weekend, one hour later, she's in a ditch with four year old daughter in back. She says the steering totally went on car (opel corsa) . We then found out that car was used as a driving instructors car and had been modified with dual pedals afterwards while checking the cars history.
Does anyone know of the oligation of the dealership to provide all this info before sale. Thanks for any help in advance.

A motor trader is obliged to reveal all relevant information regarding the car to a potential purchaser, unlike in a private sale.

Dual controls on a car doesn't make any difference to the steering, they put in a second brake and clutch pedel. They don't fit another steering wheel!!!!

Ask your gf what excatly happened, did lights appear on the dash before she crashed (electric steering on them) was she going around a bend and hit the brakes, was there loose gravel on the ground were it happened.

You don't have to give all information about the previous owner, if it was a Taxi you have to say and it's on the tax book as such but other than that, only if it was in a crash with structure damage.
