Hi,

What car insurance would you recommend?
I've been 1 year with XS Direct. The policy is about to finish on mid July. I've been getting a quote from it4women and it's been just crazy and I basically don't understand. No claims for a year and they're asking over 3k. Less than 10k km/year projected.

Which car ins company would you suggest and tips to reduce pricing?

No, I didn't have any claim so far. 30-65 yo.

I really don't understand why it's quoted higher than last year when I have no previous insurance in ROI.
 
You probably had a massive excess on your policy which makes it cheaper?

Have a look at Kenco. https://www.kennco.ie
I've no experience with them, but they seem to one of the few quoting for returning expats.
There are very limited options for people without a number of years driving in ROI.
 
Could be the age of your car is increasing it (XS direct are very sensitive to vehicle age and type). Talk to a broker that deals with a number of specialist insurer and they will be able to shop around for you.
 
The car is less than 10 y. I'm not looking at XS direct but others.
