Hi. Car went in for repairs four months ago. Initial 500 euro job turned into a long list of additional issues with total cost ending at 1800 including a re conditioned turbo which was under warranty. Car returned but back in garage within days as turbo again faulty. Company refusing to honour warranty and garage in dispute. Meanwhile car not repaired and replacement loan car a petrol eating crock. Any advice on how to resolve without additional cost? He avoiding contact. Many thanks.

You've offered next to no information on the condition or age of the or what the initial "500 euro job" was.
Be that as it may, I'd pay for an engineer's report on the car and the attempted repair first.

This is to be sure of your ground - if you're not or the report is against you, pause for thought.
If the report supports your position, then tell the garage you'll take legal advice unless the car isn't sorted - pronto!.

Hi. Car is five year old laguna. My husbands car and had some general jobs (brake pads, wheel bearing) and to resolve engine noise thought to be bushings. Then discovered to be turbo. Then the electric window and handbrake went in garage. Anyway garage and parts supplier both did reports and parts supplier wont honour warranty. Cant afford to do anything like hire yet another engineer or solicitor.

Galwaygirl,

Renault had some bad press recently.

You're looking at the thick end of €2,000.
My strategy is intended to stop the haemorrhage.

You haven't hired an independent engineer yet, so...
Please price this service before saying you can't afford it.

You may need such a report if you are forced to take legal action.

Research - that's often the key when pressing your case so as to ensure ALL the issues are resolved.

As for the petrol guzzling replacement - insist on a diesel.
