Hi,
I am just wondering if anybody has come across the fact that when booking car hire on the web, it is cheaper if you put your country of residence as Uk rather than Ireland.
I am trying to book a car for a week in Spain.
If I go to Hertz and put in country of residence as Uk, it works out about €85 cheaper than if I put in Ireland as country of residence.
If I go to Avis and put in country of residence as Uk, it works out about €23 cheaper than if I put in Ireland as country of residence.
I haven't tried it with other major car hire companies.
Has anybody come across this before?
Are we being loaded for insurance reasons or something?
I also heard similar story about booking mobile homes etc in France.
