Car hire in spain- paying in US dollars

Hi

I have been searching for cheap car rental companies for car rental in spain.It is far cheaper to book in US dollars,i.e approx 200 euros difference and you get a roomier car.Am traveling with 2 children,so would like the extra space.
Has anyone used any such service ,if so did you encountered problems picking the car at spanish airports i.e extra charges etc .I am flying to almeria

Does the US$ quote not include Insurance ?

Many US renters might have insurance on their credit cards and do not need any insurance when renting cars as they are covered by American Express etc. already ... So because of this some sites I think will not include any insurance at all when quoting for US customers who then may elect to purchase insurance if they're not covered elsewhere.

Might be the reason ? (Note this isn't the same as the insurance excess reduction from €500 to €0 or whatever... rather it's having insurance altogether)
