I purchased a new Citroen from Victor Motors in Goatstown last year. This dealership has now closed down. Was I expecting too much that Victor Motors or Citroen would drop me a letter advising me of the fact?

I don't think you have any right to be informed they closed down, but I would presume that you still have your stautory and warranty rights.

with new cars the warranty is with the brand rather than the dealership, for example the turbo went on my laguna in kerry and a local dealership fixed it under warranty, they have a warranty account that they charge this sort of work too and they are paid by the brand... hope that helps

I rang Citroen and asked them why nobody had contacted me. My car has had two recalls to date. One of which had been dealt with and the other pending. I was told that it was due to Data Protection. How would data protection stop Citroen from contacting me about a closed dealership and what about any future recalls?
