Car Damage due to icy road not gritted

Did some damage to my car last saturday morning 7.00a.m. approx in the barberstown area travelling to Dublin due to bad ice on the roads which were not gritted. Is there any point in writing into Kildare County Council re same or would I be wasting my time?

OK. Thanks for that. Had to go to work but would have been better to have stayed at home!!! Certainly would have been cheaper!!
