Car buying advice

My Ford Mondeo finally died after 150,000 miles and 13 years !!
So i am on the look out for a good second hand car. I am looking to spend a max of €7000.00.
I have noticed Opel vectras seem to be quite cheap, i dont know any thing about them so can someone advice if they are reliable? also any recommendations on aother types of cars? I am open to any model 1.4-1.8 engine size.

Any recommendations welcome!!
 
A car that size I would consider diesel it will give better economy and be easier to drive.

Mondeo's, Laguna's citreon C5 seem to be great value as well

With no trade in should be easy to knock off at least 1000 euro from the list prices.

Or it may be worth going north budget for about 4500 sterling you should easy come in under 7000 euro including vrt and the day trip.

You'd get a very decent diesel Octavia or Superb up north for that money.
