Capital gains question - moving to the North

Myself and my wife are thinking of moving house. We currently live in the South and intend to sell up and buy a house in Northern Ireland.

What are the CGT implications of the move? Please bare in mid, I still intend to work for the same Southern company but working from home in the North. i.e. I would still be paying my taxes down South. My wife intends to get employment in the North.

Thanks.

If you are selling your main residence there will be no CGT in either UK or ROI on disposal, if disposed of within 12 months of the move.

Re income tax - if you continue to work in ROI while resident in the UK, you will have Irish PAYE and PRSI deducted. However, as a UK resident you will have to file a UK tax return to declare your Irish income, but you will receive a credit for Irish tax paid.
