Cant turn on EQ on iPod Nano

Hi, can anybody tell me how to turn on the EQ on an iPod Nano?
If I select any of the settings, the sound remains
the same, and at the top of the list it says 'Off'. Clicking on 'Off' doesnt change it to 'On'. Any help much appreciated.

on my ipod nano, oviously "off" is only for one thing. And this sounds like a virus has gotten onto the ipod. It happened to me before but a quick "restore" of the ipod should fix it. Then you'll need drag your songs back on.
