Can't format text on Android

Bold, italic, etc. are greyed out on my Android phone. It works fine on a computer.

Can you try hotkeys ? (ctrl i, ctrl b and ctrl u) What if you select some text first , do they appear OK then ?

Hotkeys and the buttons are all ok when on my PC. It's just on my phone as of yesterday I can't use the fomatting ribbon.

Not sure I can do hotkeys from a phone? Highlighting the text first it is still greyed out.

They are greyed out when this [ ] button on the extreme right of the ribbon is toggled

But toggle it, and they come back again.
