Cancelling the Contract of Intention to Purchase

Well then they should be reported to the Central Bank for disqualification from selling their products in Ireland. Did you know if a person purchases a financial instrument in this country there is a 10 Day cooling off period which allows purchasers the choice to opt out in that period. There you are now !!!!

Thats just plain wrong in the context of this query. Do you have any statutory/legal basis for that statement in relation to the purchase of a property? If not, then its unfair on naive posters/investors to make those kind of broad sweeping statements.

In reality, OP has handed over money and he would like it back. It depends on whether the contract is binding - without seeing it, no-one can guage. Even if it is not binding, and even if OP is entitled to his money back, he may struggle to recover his money. Not nice but true.

It may just be an expensive lesson.

Unfortunately the time has gone, the contract was signed on 17.02.08
I understund now why they are timing me

mf1 - you're the legal expert and i don't wish to doubt you. However the point I was making is that some questioning and policing has to be made in that corporates are setting up at exhibitions and selling properties to vunerable persons without them obtaining or being able to seek professional or financial opinion

There is EXPO 2008 in Cork going be on 29 and 30 of March and this company is going be there as well

"corporates are setting up at exhibitions and selling properties to vunerable persons without them obtaining or being able to seek professional or financial opinion"

Look, I don't wish to sound unsympathetic but really when people go to these exhibitions what do they expect? And, why sign anything? We're all grown ups and everyone has a choice to go or not to go and to sign or not to sign but to seek a way/solution out of silly behaviour on the basis of being naive or vulnerable is just downright silly.

Yep - but should they be ALLOWED to do so in the first instance.

Thanks Mercman again,
There are always financial traps on our live way and nobody cares about ordinary people who can be targeted by financial and other sharks
