Anyone have opinions on canary wharf?
is it a safe bet in that it is less susceptible to a fall in prices?
Also safe perhaps as it will always have rental potemntial at least?

Do peopel think it can appreciate much more?

Property is rarely a safe bet (if the phrase itself is not a contradiction in terms). A safe bet is a high interest bank account, everything else is has a varying degree of risk.

Beware that lots of agent and sellers label their properties as Canary Wharf but in reality they are quite a long way from this area.

What price range are you looking at? How much will you have to borrow? What kind of rent are you expecting?

A property in Canary Wharf should have good rental demand but they do not come cheap. There are lots of wealthy potential renters but there is also quite a lot of buy-to-let competition.

As for appreciation..who knows? The UK property market has defied gravity for some time but we are certainly closer to the top than the bottom. Recent inflation data would suggest that there is at least one more rate rise due in the UK.
