Hi there,
I am just starting out on the process of trying to find a reliable building contractor or builder to do some fairly extensive rennovation work on an old house (built circa 1900). The floors need to be replaced, walls need to be damp-proofed and re-plastered, new kitchen installed, as well as work on the roof, etc. I have had one recommendation, but the builder told me he couldn't give me a proper quote as he couldn't see what exactly needed to be done, until the floor is pulled up and the fireplace removed, etc.
I am told that now is a good time for getting building / renovation work done. However, I feel a bit green, to say the least, when it comes to trying to find a reliable honest builder who has the know-how and experience to do this kind of work.
Does anybody have a recommendation or name for a builder?
