Can you password Protect Pdf File if so How ?

Well the title says it all

I am using a program called pdf995 to create pdf files from a word document

I want to put the pdf file on a website but password protect them

How can I do this and do I need any software, preferably freeware

Or you could buy one of the Adobe Acrobat family of products, which allow you to create PDFs and use "advanced" features such as applying passwords.

Of course it's not going to compete on price with the free tool above!
 

If you don't want to pay, you could always use WinRAR.

Install-->Right-click on a PDF and ''add to archive'' then set the password.
You can add as many as you like into one archive so you don't need to bother entering a pass for each PDF.
