Got a letter from ICS yesterday saying we are coming off fixed rate next month, no issues with that.
They gave a number of options: 4.55% variable and a range of fixed rates. Gave them a call to see if that was the best rate on offer for long term, overpaying low LTV customer (As I though!).
Have been a customer of Bank of Ireland for 20 years, currently paying double the required repayment each month, Loan to value under 40% so no issues there.
The reply I got for the customer service rep was "none of that matters there are no offers on the variable rate".
Its so annoying that they are just giving a rate out knowing borrowers have limited options. Is there any opportunity to switch provider if even on a point of principle.
Rant Over.
