Can you go from Illness Benefit to Job seekers Benefit?

Hi,

I was made redundant upon returning from materity leave (in October 2010).. Due to a post natal illness I was signed off by my GP and claiming Illness Benefit (end of December 2010).. After a very long road I have now been deemed fit for work and my last cert from my GP was 20th December 2011.

My Question is now that I am activially trying to seek work and deemed fit for work could I now apply for Job seekers Benefit while I am trying to gain employment??

Yes, if you're available for and seeking work, you can apply for Jobseeker's Benefit.
