I am shortlisted for redundancy,

To make it short and sweet, I was hired as receptionist/PA to director/ admin assistant/general office duties

I work in an sub office of a larger organisation (Company buy out two years ago) and some of the admin duties I know will be done/can be done centrally but many of my duties can only be done onsite.

can they give my smaller jobs like answering the phone/pa duties to someone in the organisation here? s wondered as they have said they are making my job redundant and that would have been my job....

have read that some jobs like firstaider/fire Marshall can be replaced as I chose to be them but it was for other duties that I was on have taken on since being employed.

any advice would be appreciated as have a consultation meeting soon
Thanks

I think it depends if you have a contract or not.

You could probably try citizens advice they may be able to help you or put you in touch with someone who can advise you.

Good luck

hi thanks for your reply,

Yes I have a contract and I will try the CAB, I know they will have to give some of my jobs to someone as too many for me to mention here but I do about four people jobs and know that my job is not redundant as they say only one small part of it.

For you to have a case for unfair selection for redundancy, you would need to be fairly certain that your exact job, with all it's duties and terms and conditions, was being done by someone else.
