can someone produce a insurance cert on your behalf

hi, i have been asked to produce my insurance cert at my local garda station but when i went in today with it they told me i would have to call back in a day or two as it was not ' on the system yet ' does anyone know if i can send somebody else up with it as i am off on my holidays tomorrow for two weeks.
 
yes, but make sure you have the name of the garda who told you' it was not up on the system', lest anything go ary.
 
thanks - have been reading horror stories about people getting summons' all day through garda error
 
Yes you can, I brought items belonging to my brothers car to the station for him
 
thanks for all your reply's - would you believe when someone handed it in for me the person on the desk said.......'there is no system', appartently they just photocopy it leave it to the side and then check it later. typical !!!

maybe the photocopier was broken
