Has anyone got advice on the below.

We have put a dospit down on a house, 21 days to sign the contracts, only the council delayed it by a week, because the claw back wasn't right and it had to be reviewed, mortgage company wanted orignal of this letter so mortgage offer was delayed too. We have a copy of the mortgage offer via email from our broker, but my solictor hasn't received it in the post yet, and wont let us sign with out the orignal letter of offer, which is understandable, but our 21 days our now up and my solictor is off on holidays and wont be back for a week, my question is, do you think the builders will pull the contracts because we haven't signed yet.

I dont know. The girls thats taking care of the builders side of things, didn't say.Fingers crossed that they dont, but I think they can if they want

The council have an allocation of affordable houses so it is them who call the shots not the builder, the builder will merely transfer the property to you incorporating the claw back provisions from the council, i would seriously doubt they will pull from you especially given they are not the most efficient organisation themselves & also given the current climate and time of year nothing happens on time, also the 21 day return of contracts is rarely adheared to, your only concern would be if there was a waiting list and pressure from others to get the properties, if not i wouldn't worry!
