Can Mains Cable Pass Close To Attic Water Tank

Hello,

I need to pass L/N mains cable from a switch to a light fixture along an attic wall and it will mostly be inside 15mm square electrical PVC conduit, the kind with a clip-on outer side/lid.

The direct route would pass 2" to the side of the top of the water tank that is beside the wall (and just above the rim in height). I could use a sealed section (square or circular cross section) of conduit for this portion. The side wall is slightly higher than the water tank, and the joists rise from there over the tank.

Is this considered a hazard or is it important to use a different route, though longer and more complex, that provides a minimum distance to the water tank. ?

Thank you.

IMHO there is no problem with what you propose to do.
