Hi
Can I use the sim card from my mobile phone in my iPad and be able to get internet connectivity that way using my sim card data package?

Would my mobile provider provide me with 2nd sim card with same number that I could use in iPad instead of having to swap the 1 sim card between the phone and ipad

Thanks

yes, but its messy swapping Sims

Can you not "tether" your ipad to your phone via wifi?

Thanks John Jay for the reply and information
Yep can pick up Wi-Fi from the ipad when at home - was thinking more when away from home - down country/visiting family etc
Hear ya about messy swapping Sims
Will contact my mobile provider and see if can get a 2nd sim
Thanks

i think what JohnJay means is that you can use your phone when out as a mobile hotspot and use the wifi on your ipad to connect to the phone. Its referred to as "tethering".

1. If you use an iPhone, go to Home>Settings>Personal Hotspot and tap the icon to "On" / Green. This will show the WiFi password.

2. On the iPad go to Home>Settings>WiFi tap the icon to "On" / Green. Select the network with your iPhone's name and enter the pass word from step 1

To use a SIM card in the iPad it must have a SIM-card slot, not all iPads do. Can you connect to free public WiFi spots with the iPad or with the phone? If you can, the job is oxo with nothing else to do.

Thanks for the replies and info. I don't think there is a SIM Card slot on the ipad. When I power it up it says No Sim card and when I go to settings the Mobile Data option is greyed out with the No SIM text beside; so I don't think there is SIM Card slot on it

Anyways I was able to get the tethering option set up.

Thanks for replies and info. I learned something new today :)

Thanks
