Can I turn off autocomplete in Word without turning off autocorrect?

Word has suddenly started autocompleting some words. It brings back unhappy memories of an ex who used to finish my sentences for me so I want to switch it off.

When I Google it, it seems to show that I must switch off autocorrect which I don't want to do. If I type in Wendesday , I want Word to correct it, but if I start with Wed... I don't want it to finish the word for me.

Try:
File, Options,
Under Word Options, select Advanced

Uncheck the box "Show AutoComplete suggestions"

Edit: you'll need to uncheck the predictive option below it also (I've an older version here)

Seems confusing that you can switch it on/off in the Windows OS settings or in Word itself but the former takes precedence even if the latter is enabled!
