Hi,
Im lookin for some advise, I am currently registered as self employed, however, my business has never really taken off. Ideally I should de-reg from self employed and VAT but I currently cannot afford to repay the VAT bill I owe at the minute. Iv been offered a job and basicly im wondering can I start working for another company without having to de-reg from VAT and Self Employed or is there anyway i can take this job witout having to de-reg as this job is vital to me in order to repay the VAT bill ect.
Thanks
Shaun

Yes.
You can be both PAYE & self employed (Nothing stopping you doing your own thing on the side). Talk to your accountant about it. Don't let it stop you taking that job.

u can still de register even if u owe VAT. obvioulsy youll still have to pay the VAT but at least it will tidy things up a bit

Yes no issue with both PAYE worker and self employed. Your accountant can sort out the revenue element by making your self employed element dormant. But you will still need to pay the VAT

Congrats on getting a job.. Best of luck
