Can I offset my Capital Gains?

Hi,
Is it possible to offset the Capital Gains due from cashing in shares against a Rental Income loss in the same year?
I think not. I think I read that a Rental Income loss must be carried forward to offset against a gain in future years? Not sure though ...

No - you can't offset income against a capital gain (regardless of whether that income is normal PAYE income or rental income)
