I have a property in Northern Ireland with over £100000 equity in it. I have a £50000 mortgage on it and I was thinking of releasing equity.

Is it possible to get a mortgage on a property in Northern Ireland through a Bank here try to make use out of the lower interest rate and the low value of sterling at present?

If so could you recommend any banks do this? Spoke to BOI and they would need it secure in a property here.

I don't think that it is a good idea to speculate on currency or interest rate movements. You are taking a huge gamble.

There is a strong link between exchange rates and interest rates. They might well move against you.
